Devlog #7: Almost there

We mentioned in earlier update that multiplayer and singleplayer web builds will be released separately, however, we have come to realisation that it will be less troublesome to do them together. Due to this, release is postponed. New build will most likely be launched on Monday, so you won't have to wait too long.

In the meantime, we have made some progress not only in the development, but also in the visual aspect of the game. Here is a screenshot of a work-in-progress background for the game:

Concerning the current state of the game, we are almost done with network features:

  • Lobby is finished (players can connect to a game session, create rooms and view players in a room)
  • Game state is mostly synced (we still need to work out some kinks though)

We also changed a bit the way generation works. Map generation is now based on a seed, which makes debugging easier and in some much later updates we might add a feature that allows player to recreate certain game maps by manually inputting seed value.

Hopefully we won't encounter any unexpected difficulties in the upcoming few days and the next update will be on time.
